Data Broker Removal Status

30 major data brokers, what each one publishes about you, and the exact link to remove yourself. Free, no signup, no automation fee.

What data brokers do

Data brokers aggregate public records (property deeds, court filings, marriage licenses), scraped social-media data, and purchased loyalty-card / ad-tracking data into searchable profiles on you. Your name, address history, phone number, family members, age, sometimes income range and voter registration all appear on a one-page profile that anyone can look up for free or a few dollars.

Removing yourself takes about 2 hours total for the 30 brokers below. Each removal is free. Some require a verification email, some require uploading a redacted ID, some are a one-click form.

Services like Pentester, DeleteMe, Privacy Bee, and Optery automate this for ~$10-30/month. The list below lets you do it yourself for free.

Tips that save you hours

  1. Set up a dedicated email (e.g., removals@yourdomain.com) for the verification messages. Don't use your primary email — many of these brokers will then sell that email to other brokers.
  2. Don't pay for any "premium removal." Every broker is required to honor the free opt-out under CCPA (California) and similar state laws regardless of where you live.
  3. Repeat in 6 months. Many brokers re-add your record when their data sources update. Annual audit is required to stay clean.
  4. Use a virtual address (UPS Store mailbox, Earth Class Mail) for any future public-facing accounts so even fresh aggregation doesn't surface your real home address.

When to hire an automated service

  • You're a journalist, public figure, or at-risk individual (abuse

survivor, judge, public official, online personality)

  • You're past the initial opt-out and just want continuous monitoring
  • The $10-30/month is worth more to you than 2-3 hours every 6 months

Services worth knowing about:

  • Pentester — $20/mo, also surfaces facial-recognition results
  • DeleteMe — $129/yr, longest-running, biggest broker coverage
  • Privacy Bee — $197/yr, includes phone-call follow-ups
  • Optery — $39-99/yr, transparent dashboard of what's been removed
